Why use this calculator
A brand deal's headline fee is not what you keep. Managers, agencies and retainers can take a third or more before the money reaches you, and payment can take two to three months. This calculator shows what lands in your account and when, for creators on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch or any other platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
QHow much do creator managers take from brand deals?
Managers commonly take 15% to 20% of a brand deal, and talent agencies commonly take 10% to 20%. These are industry ranges, not fixed rates, so check the percentage in your contract.
QIs commission charged on the full deal fee?
Usually yes. When a creator has both a manager and an agency, both commonly take their percentage of the full deal fee. On a 5,000 deal with a 20% manager and a 10% agency, that's 1,000 and 500, leaving the creator 3,500.
QCan a manager take a cut of my YouTube or TikTok earnings?
Some management contracts take commission on all your income, including platform payouts the manager didn't bring in. Select All my income to see what that costs you.
QDo YouTube, TikTok or Instagram take a cut of brand deals?
No. Brands pay creators directly, and the platforms' own brand marketplaces say the brand pays the creator. Any cut comes from your manager, agency or retainer.
QWhen will a brand deal payment arrive?
Brands commonly pay 30, 60 or 90 days after the invoice. If your agency or manager collects the payment first, they usually pass on your share 3 to 7 business days later.
QWhat if my retainer is more than I earned?
The calculator shows a negative result, so you can see how much you're down for the period instead of a misleading zero.
